Dean Brody Conquers The 6ix With His Travelling Freakshow

Ron Kitchener and his RKG Entertainment crew conquered Hog Town last night as Dean Brody’s Beautiful Freakshow achieved a precedent at the Bud Theatre by becoming the first Canadian country star to headline the venue based strictly on domestic success.

In the past seven years a string of imaginative and beautifully crafted storybook songs have won the Smithers, BC songwriter a showcase full of trophies from the Junos and the CCMAs, pushed his record sales past 400,00 for Kitchener’s Open Road Recordings imprint, and transformed his tours into million-dollar enterprises.

Last night the 42-year-old hat star pulled out all the stops at the Ontario Place amphitheatre with a posse of label stablemates and soul mates that included Madeline Merlo, Tim Hicks, Dallas Smith, Carly Pearce and Alan Doyle, and cementing a career that has gone from outcast to best-in-class.
